Catheine love to walk out “on the tops” with a 360 degree long range view where each slight turn reveals a different aspect. In this interactive series I can choose how to juxtapose the different elements, the colours and the textures to create my own view – and then change it whenever the mood takes me.

These pieces are part of an interactive series of wall hangings that celebrate the moorland colours and the swiftly changing weather in Yorkshire.

Watch the clouds roll by

This piece is designed to give the viewer the sensation of seeing the clouds massing or dispersing. Walk past in one direction to see the clouds roll in and presage a thunderstorm, walk in the other direction and the clouds clear to leave blue skies.

Moorland mosaic

In the "Moorland" piece the mosaic cushions are attached to the backing with Velcro so that each cushion can be re-orientated or re-positioned. If one variable within Moorland 6 was changed every day it would take

Catherine delights in the tactile qualities of felt and love to move the pieces and create different patterns and effects from the original design source. The viewer can share in the excitement of changing the colour relationships and handling the felt, creating their own design within her parameters.
